On Cyber Monday, Santa Cruz County launched the new MySCCounty+ app with a digital platform to purchase and store digital permits and other county services.
MySCCounty+, available on the App Store and Google Play, allows residents to access community services, apply for public benefits, register for emergency alerts, report potholes, abandoned vehicles, and other nuisances, and access the original app. Allows access to other programs such as is a purchase option.
Additionally, residents can store permits purchased online for easy access.
“With the release of the new MySCCounty+ app, the county has taken a technological leap forward that will help lay the foundation for completely secure county services anytime, anywhere,” said Santa Cruz County Board of Supervisors Chairman Zach Friend. “No other local government in California is as committed to leveraging the power of technology to serve their residents.”
The MySCCounty+ app allows visiting relatives and others to secure RV parking permits in unincorporated areas.
The app also allows public safety officials and residents to see if someone has a permit without contacting the permit holder.
The app is powered by HUMBL, a San Diego-based company that develops mobile apps for digital payments, including transactions based on blockchain technology. This is the first municipal app developed in a local jurisdiction in California.
This app includes a library of credentials called “Vault”. Payments are made online and HUMBL does not store or access your financial information.
For added security, residents can log in using biometrics.
