Special tours and musical performances to celebrate the popular exhibition, running until December 10th
Saratoga Springs, New York (November 28, 2023) — Skidmore College’s Frances Young Tan Educational Museum and Art Gallery invites the public to a final event held in conjunction with the exhibition Forms of Awakening: Selection from the Jack Shear Himalayan Art Collection. form of awakening Introducing traditional Tibetan objects from the Jack Shear Collection as well as works by contemporary artists who carry on the Tibetan tradition. Together, this work reveals how such objects can change our perceptions and awaken us to aspects of reality that we are unaware of in everyday life. The exhibition is on display until December 10th.

Students in Associate Professor of Asian Studies Benjamin Borgin’s class “Forms of Awakening” will lead a tour of the exhibits they have been studying throughout the semester. The students are tori adams ‘twenty four, Jayo Chandler ‘twenty four, Guo Xiaoyan ‘twenty five, wade harrison ’26, Yalitza Idemoto ‘twenty four, Annie McIntyre ’27, Sophia Olivero ’26, John Tommasi ‘twenty five, lucy webster ’26, matt williams ‘twenty four, Aaron Weingrad ’24, and Jody Sue ’24.
