On August 23, 21-year-old Monikia Thompson was involved in an argument with her 16-year-old brother at an apartment on Robert Cartwright Drive. Upon arrival, officers spoke with Thompson's brother, who explained he was upset because he found out Thompson had skipped school. He stated that while he was talking to his sister, she grabbed his TV and PlayStation. Thompson's brother stated his sister then broke both of their items.
When officers spoke with Thompson, she stated that she and her brother began to struggle. During the struggle, her brother slammed the bedroom door, causing a cut to her finger. Thompson and her brother's mother were present at the scene of the incident. When officers interviewed her, she corroborated her son's account. Officers determined that Thompson was the primary aggressor, and she was taken into custody and charged with domestic violence.
Monikia Thompson, of Robert Cartwright Drive in Goodlettsville, Tennessee, was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail on Aug. 23 and charged with domestic violence. She was released on $1,000 bail.
