Maryland Outdoor Learning Partnership is accepting applications from delegates
The Maryland Department of Natural Resources and the Maryland Department of Education are accepting applications from members to serve as representatives. Maryland Outdoor Learning Partnership.
Governor Wes Moore Presidential Decree On April 22, 2024, the Outdoor Learning Partnership will be a new interagency collaboration that includes state agencies, federal partners, nonprofit environmental and outdoor education organizations, and formal education partners.
The partnership, which absorbed the former Project Green Classroom program, is committed to helping all Maryland youth develop as environmental stewards who access, protect and restore natural resources to achieve a climate-fit Maryland.
To carry out its responsibilities, the Partnership seeks representation from the following groups:
- Three representatives from non-profit organizations working on environmental education.
- One PTA representative.
- Two representatives from local governments who have demonstrated leadership in sustainable development practices.
- Two representatives (teachers or principals) from an Outdoor School, Maryland Green School, Maryland Green Ribbon School, or a school that focuses on environmental education.
- One District Environmental Literacy Supervisor or Coordinator.
- One District Sustainability Supervisor or Coordinator.
- One school principal.
- 1 Environmental Education Teacher
- 2 representatives from youth organizations
- Two representatives from the business community with proven leadership in supporting a green or sustainable workforce.
To represent the above groups, qualified individuals must Outdoor Learning Partnership Membership Application By September 12, 2024.
