Holidays Around the World by Bright Star Touring Theater, based in Asheville, North Carolina: 6 p.m., Reynolds Homestead, Critz. Yoga in the Gallery: 108 Sun Salutations: 5:30 p.m., Piedmont Arts. Join Piedmont Art Gallery instructor Elizabeth Walsh for a time-honored traditional yoga practice for the winter solstice. Walsh has his RYT 500 yoga training and he has 10 years of teaching experience. This is a vigorous practice that can be adapted to first-time yoga students and all levels of fitness. The group performs sun salutations and she performs them 108 times. This practice is mentally refreshing, and as a result of stretching and strength, it tires out the body with pain from the inside out, making you feel more alive. From China to Appalachia: 6:30pm. Piedmont Arts; Grammy Award-winning American roots artists Kathy Fink and Marcy Marxer perform with classical Chinese hammered dulcimer player Chao Tian in a show that combines music from China to Appalachia and beyond. It will be held. Instruments include the yangqin (Chinese hammered dulcimer), gourd banjo, five-string banjo, ukulele, guitar, dumbek, cello banjo, and mandolin.
