Bloomberg Law is changing the legal industry by providing the most sophisticated research platform on the market, with a focus on automation, analytics and real-time answers. Our goal is to become an essential tool for legal professionals by providing solutions that support their daily work and allow them to get answers in real time and better serve their clients.
Within Bloomberg Law (BLAW), the BLAW Machine Learning team uses natural language processing (NLP), information extraction (IE), and machine learning (ML) to build breakthrough, data-driven, customer-facing products. A central machine learning engineering team working on technology. ) Techniques such as named entity disambiguation, text classification, clustering and topic modeling, text summarization, and personalized recommendations. Our current focus is on legal research and contract writing tools designed to speed up legal professionals’ work by letting AI do the heavy lifting. These tools allow users to upload documents, automatically classify them, structure their content, and analyze the text by identifying topics, extracting entities, and suggesting other relevant documents. Specific problems we are working on this year include summarizing legal content, extracting case results from court documents, or data mined from legal contracts. To solve these, we use both traditional methods and techniques such as attention-based deep neural networks and deep language models. We use agile development and work closely with product managers, software engineers, and legal experts.
Machine learning projects generally involve inherent uncertainty, so our team is best suited for individuals who are self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable with uncertainty and ambiguity in task definitions. is. We are a very collaborative team both internally and among other teams, so being teammates and being able to communicate effectively is important to our success.
merit:
As part of our team, you will develop machine learning (ML) models tailored to business needs. You will drive, design, and develop machine learning solutions. The right combination of cross-field ML techniques, a deep understanding of the business problem, and high-quality training data is the basis for a model that produces high-quality models tailored to the needs of our clients. Collaborate with product managers and legal experts to understand business problems and map them to ML problems. Research breakthrough ML/NLP techniques and apply them to business problems. Gain valuable insights by collaborating with legal domain experts and leverage their legal expertise to obtain high-quality annotated training data. You will work closely with product owners, legal data analysts (our domain experts), data engineers, and front-end engineers to build and integrate ML solutions into our products.
