The Hopkinton Public Library Foundation has announced funding for a series of free drop-in gaming events at the Hopkinton Public Library for local middle and high school students. Pre-teens and teens can play on multiple systems from One Up Games, including Nintendo Switch, XBox Series S, PlayStation 4, and Oculus Quest 2.
The event is scheduled for five early release dates this school year at Hopkinton Middle School and Hopkinton High School. The next event is this Friday (October 20th) from 1-4 p.m. The first event, held on September 15th, brought more than 80 young people to the library to play games and have fun. In 2024, the event will be held on his three Fridays, January 26th, March 15th and May 10th, from 1pm to 4pm. The event is recommended for ages 9 and up and no registration is required.
HPLF also funds a year-long music and athletic program at the library. These programs, held every Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday morning, are aimed at infants and toddlers (up to age 5) and their parents. The popular program averages about 75 to 80 participants per month. The next music and movement program will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 15, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. and will feature performer Julie Stepanek.
