Player: Ephraim Moore
Class: 2028
School: Beaumont United
Phenom Hoops continues to take pride in highlighting young prospects across the country, getting to know new names and how they play, and one player that many are keeping an eye on as he continues to develop is 2028 big man Ephraim Moore, who has had a big early summer and this may just be the beginning of his recruiting journey.
Game Description:
The next wave of talent is starting to emerge and one big man to watch is 6'8″ Ephraim Moore, 2028, who played in JL3 last summer. He's an absolute force in the paint and has made a name for himself among many, so we're excited to learn more about his game.
“First, I'm going to run the length of the court while protecting the rim and try to get more rebounds than anyone else on the court.”
Moore continues to focus on his game and work hard, but he also wants to expand his range as a big man. “Mainly ball handling and mid-range shooting. I'm trying to expand my range so I can be less likely to get double-teamed.”
Moore is a member of the class of 2028 and has just begun his high school career, but has had a great start to his career and was able to blossom as a young prospect in JL3. Not only was it a strong program overall, but Moore was excited to get his name out there early on.
“I think I did well. I got a lot of coverage and as far as the team goes, we were ranked No. 1 in the region and No. 4 in the nation going into Peach Jam. I was able to show there's more to my game than just getting back to the basket.”
When The Phenom caught up with Moore to learn more about his game, we always like to ask him who he likes to model his game after, and he responded that he likes to model his game after Kevin Garnett and Michael Beasley.
Early recruitment and preparation for freshman season:
It's not often that young prospects draw strong offers early on, but Moore previously announced that LSU was his first Division I offer and he was excited.
“I was happy to get the offer (from LSU). It's proof that all the hard work on and off the court is paying off.”
That list is sure to grow as he enters his freshman season with Beaumont United, as new challenges await him that will not only test his abilities but also show he has the potential to be one of the top young talents in his year.
“The new challenge of competing against players who are bigger, faster and stronger than me is just a chance to prove that I can compete with anyone, stay hungry and keep getting better.”
