GRAMMY Lifetime Achievement Award recipient John Prine's musical and philanthropic legacy will continue to grow through the third annual “You Got Gold” philanthropic event series, taking place October 9-12, 2024.
Prine, who wrote songs such as “Sam Stone” and “I Remember Everything” and died in 2020, has been honored annually through his independent label, Oh Boy Records, since his untimely death in 2020 from complications of COVID-19.
The Pring family has announced a series of celebration events, including three “You Got Gold” concerts to be held at the Ryman Auditorium, Basement East and the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum's CMA Theatre on October 9th, 10th (Pring's birthday) and 11th, respectively.
Tickets for the celebration at the Ryman Auditorium are limited, as both the Basement East and CMA Theatre events are sold out. Each show will feature performances by a variety of surprise artists celebrating Prine's 50-year career.

“You Got Gold” Dates, Locations and Details
Speaking about the “You Got Gold” celebration, Prynne’s wife, Fiona Whelan Prynne, said in 2023: “It’s a great opportunity to celebrate the ‘You Got Gold’ moment.
“In my time on tour with John, one thing was clear to me: the community he built has always been, and will always be, at the heart of the music and the work we continue to do every day. We're thrilled that 'You Got Gold' will become an annual event, allowing us to maintain those connections and grow the community we love.”
The four-day event will also include pop-up stores, film screenings, song circles and more. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Hello in There Foundation (inspired by John's 1971 song of the same name) and the community grant recipients it supports throughout the year.
The foundation works with individuals and communities whose people have been marginalized, discriminated against or forgotten about in some way. Supporting organizations for the 2023 “You Got Gold” concert include the Tennessee Immigrant and Refugee Rights Coalition, Porter's Call, Renewal House and the National Coalition of Homeless Veterans.
The 2023 “You Got Gold” tribute raised more than $300,000 for the Hello in There Foundation.
Concerts at the Ryman and Basement East featured artists such as Tanya Tucker, Lukas Nelson, Joy Oladakun, Rita Wilson, Ruston Kelly, Rodney Crowell, Katie Pruitt, John Oates, Amanda Shires and many more.
