Welfare recipients are being asked to pay attention to changes in payment dates due to February holidays.
In a notice posted on its website, the Ministry of Social Protection said: “Due to Monday, February 5th being a bank holiday, social welfare payments that were due to be deposited into your account on Monday, February 5th will instead be credited to your account on February 2nd. It will be paid on Friday.” Payments will be made as usual on Tuesday, February 6th.
“All Intreo centers and branches will be closed for public holidays on Monday, February 5th. Intreo centers and branches will reopen on Tuesday, February 6th.”

Meanwhile, January bonus payments will be paid to more than 1 million social welfare recipients from Monday 29 January. This doubling of benefits is the last cost of living increase announced in last year’s budget.
As with the Christmas bonus, the payment will be two weeks of your normal social welfare payment and will cover the same groups.
