And they say holiday events can become targets for violence. Currently, an FBI bulletin states that potential attackers may target holidays and religious gatherings due to their open nature and varying levels of security. The paper also said potential attackers are likely to use simple weapons such as guns, knives or vehicles because they are less likely to be detected. This year’s Hanukkah celebrations have been overshadowed by the war, prompting an increased police response. Menorah lighting ceremonies were held throughout Boston on the sixth night of Hanukkah inside Boston City Hall. There have been no reports of threats to the community, but leaders say they remain vigilant this holiday season. All of our city officials are very engaged and very aware and we’re not overreacting, but you know, the light of it. And security experts say vigilance is also important for the things we do every day, like waiting in line or just waiting in a parking lot.
