Hershey’s and Reese’s are introducing new lines of chocolate products, but you won’t find them in the candy aisle.
No, these Hershey Company candies are freezer We are launching a first-of-its-kind range of candy-coated frozen fruit for leaders in the confectionery industry.
This is the first time we’ve seen the iconic candy maker team up with whole frozen fruit, perhaps signaling the arrival of a whole new era of chocolate snacks. Fruit brings a fresh, flavorful element to sweet chocolate treats, and even crispy chocolate shells develop new textures when stored in the freezer.
These inventive treats tap into the TikTok trend of freezing chocolate-covered fruit and are now easier than ever to eat.
Now, if this concept sounds familiar, it’s because Hershey’s and Reese’s aren’t the first companies to enter the candy-coated frozen fruit market. TruFru has become a favorite household fruit brand (and a Target cart staple). But they’re the first major brand name to enter this space, and fans can’t wait.

Next up are blueberries covered in Hershey’s white cream and milk chocolate, followed by raspberries covered in Hershey’s white cream and milk chocolate. And finally, the undoubted favorite of this batch, Reese’s Chocolate and Peanut Butter Covered Bananas. Hmm.
“That Reese’s banana is insane,” said one TikTok user.
It’s clear that major candy brands are copying TruFru’s recipe with double-dip (white and milk) chocolate coatings. Not in the slightest. However, fans are unfazed by this fact and are already planning to “hunt everyone down.”
These frozen fruit treats have been spotted at Walmart, leading fans to speculate that the product line is exclusive to Walmart. Rumor has it that Reese’s Chocolate and Peanut Butter Covered Strawberries and Hershey’s Cookies and Cream and Chocolate Covered Bananas will be the next flavors to hit the market. Have you ever eaten strawberries covered in peanut butter and chocolate? Certainly not.
These chocolate and fruit flavor combinations sound really delicious, and at $6.98 for an 8-ounce bag, they’re about the same price as TruFru.
So can the big dogs beat TruFru at their own game? From dark chocolate-covered cherries to white chocolate and coconut-covered pineapples, TruFru offers a variety of time-tested treats that will be hard to compete with. But if flavors like Cookies and Cream or Reese’s Peanut Butter Chocolate come out, there might be a chance.
