Please join us for a small rural autumn festival in the city. Mimosa Farm will host a free, family-friendly He Day with lots of fun, including a costume contest, cornhole, children’s activities, food trucks, trick-or-treating, shopping vendors, mini fall photo ops, and more .

Bring the whole family to the 2nd Annual Fall Pumpkin Float on Lake Tamms. Highlights include pumpkin water floats, pumpkin carving (while supplies last), light fixtures, and fun family activities. Snacks, music, and activities for kids make Halloween a lot of fun. Take the carved pumpkin to the drop-off tent by the lake. We will also provide a raft and lights. For a pumpkin to float, it must weigh 7 pounds or less. You can also carve faces, polka dots, initials, or other designs on your pumpkin, but make sure it’s family-friendly.
- To reserve a raft, you must register online or in person at Staunton Parks & Recreation. The cost is $2 per raft, and families can book as many as they like. The number of pumpkin floats is limited. After the event, the pumpkins will not be returned to the family and will be composted.

Have you ever wanted to explore a mid-19th century railroad tunnel after dark? Nelson County Parks and Recreation is teaming up with Blue Mountain Brewery to bring something spooky to the third annual Tunnels After Dark event. I will make it appear. We lined about a mile of tunnels and parts of the accessible Eastern Trail with luminous bags to create the perfect atmosphere. Blue Mountain will be selling draft at the tunnel entrance. The event will also raise food and monetary funds to support the Nelson Foodbank during the holiday season.
