NORFOLK, Va. — There are plenty of events happening across Hampton Roads to keep you and your family busy this Halloween weekend.
It starts in Newport News. You can enjoy this exciting Halloween display without even getting out of your car. The Stern family is known for his spectacular Christmas lights, but he also lights up the neighborhood with his impressive Halloween light show.
Drive down the 100 block of Sheffield Way in Newport News to see the spectacle every night from dusk until 9:45 p.m. on Halloween night.
‘Fear and Phobia’ will be held on Waterside Drive in Norfolk on Saturday. There will be live entertainment, a silent disco, and a huge costume contest with a $5,000 prize. The event begins at 7pm in the Waterside District. You must purchase a ticket.
On Sunday, the Chrysler Museum of Art will host a Halloween Harvest Festival. From noon to 5 p.m., museum staff will dress up in all sorts of festive costumes and become living works of art. We encourage you and your children to dress up too. This event is free for everyone to attend.
In Virginia Beach, enjoy high-flying fun at the Virginia Aquarium. That’s Glow in the Park. The final Creepy Glow Night at the adventure park, featuring spooky decorations and Halloween-themed music, is Friday night, October 27th. Space is limited and climbing tickets are $55 per person.
Finally, if you’re looking to help our furry friends, Halloween bodes well for black cats: PETA has two locations: Tractor Supply on Prudden Boulevard in Suffolk and Brittingham Midtown. We offer free spaying and neutering at our mobile clinic. Newport News Community Center. Both events are held on Halloween and require reservations.
