Fall Fest/Trunk or Treat: The HCC Learning Center, located at 198 Niles Cortland Road SE in Warren, will host its 2nd Annual Community Fall Fest/Trunk or Treat today from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
Kiwanis Cakewalk: Newton Falls Kiwanis has announced that it will hold its 97th annual cakewalk on Broad Street Saturday at 2 p.m.
At approximately 1:45 p.m., costume contest participants will be called to the middle of the road (closed to traffic) for judging by age group. Businesses, community members and organizations donated cash and gift certificate prizes for children and adults.
Creative handmade costumes are recommended for all ages. Prizes will be given to the most patriotic adults and children.
A high school band is scheduled to perform, followed by a cake walk. Tickets will be sold to pass through the Cake Walk parade circle arch. Due to the continued spread of COVID-19 and safety concerns, Kiwanis is purchasing cakes from local grocery stores this year. Proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to youth programs.
If the weather is too severe to ensure everyone’s safety, Kiwanis will notify schools and schools will announce changes on their social media pages.
Niles and Warren Parade: A Halloween parade will be held in Niles and Warren on Sunday.
The Niles parade will line up at Niles McKinley High School and begin moving from the high school to Main Street and the viaduct at 1 p.m.
Warren’s parade will be held at 3 p.m., moving from Mahoning Avenue to Market Street Extension, then from East Market Street to Vine Avenue to High Street, dissolving at Harmon Avenue.
Pumpkin Patch: Pumpkin Patch Storytime will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Chalker Building in Southington.
Halloween Party: The Newton Falls Scope Senior Center Halloween Party will be held today at Village Hall from 1 to 3 p.m. There will also be a costume contest, prizes and light refreshments.
Cemetery Tour: The Trumbull County Historical Society’s walking tour of Oakwood Cemetery begins at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Oakwood Cemetery gatehouse, 860 Niles Road SE, Warren.

Conversation with Administrator: Brookfield Township will hold a Conversation with Administrator from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Brookfield Library.
Tri-County Heart Ball: The American Heart Association will hold its annual Heart of Tri-County Heart Ball on Thursday at the Eastwood Event Center in Niles. Principal sponsors of this year’s ball are Premier Bank and the Cafaro Foundation.
This year’s Heart Ball co-chairs are Mark Mediate of Premier Bank and Lisa Mariotti of Granger.
The event will be hosted by WFMJ’s Derek Steyer. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for cocktail hour and silent auction. The formal dinner and program will begin at 7 p.m., followed by a live auction and Open Your Heart special appeal.
