A man opened fire inside an Ohio Walmart, injuring four people before dying from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said.
Police responded to a shooting at a Walmart store in Beavercreek, a suburb east of Dayton, around 8:30 p.m. local time on Monday.
The man “entered the Beaver Creek Walmart” and “began firing a firearm,” police said in a statement on social media.
Police added that none of the officers who responded to the scene fired any shots, but died from self-inflicted gunshot wounds.
“At this time, there is no active threat. Beavercreek Police are investigating and will release additional information as it becomes available,” the Beavercreek Police Department said.
It remains unclear what led to the shooting, and police have not yet provided any suspect information.

“We don’t know the motive yet, we don’t have any information about what he was thinking or anything else,” Beavercreek Police Chief Scott Molnar told reporters. “We are still investigating. The investigation is in the very early stages.”
Photos from the scene showed a convoy of police cars with flashing lights converging on the store.
In a video posted to social media, one woman said, “I was literally just going shopping for Thanksgiving items when this guy walked past me with an assault rifle and started shooting.” ”, he said, adding that he did not know if anyone was injured or killed.
“I ran…he shot me like 10 times…I’m really lucky to be alive,” she said.
Another witness said the gunman was a “tall young white man” carrying a military bag. “Right now my nerves are numb,” she said.
Molnar said the condition of the victims is unknown at this time, but all were taken to the hospital for treatment.
Walmart said it is saddened by the incident and is cooperating with investigators.
Walmart said in a statement: “We are saddened by what happened at our Beavercreek, Ohio store. The situation remains evolving and we are working closely with law enforcement authorities on scene.”
