Director Nikki Traub, who has been with the center since its inception, said Georgetown's Huntington Learning Center has 18 instructors who typically serve 20 to 25 students a day.
Traub said the center focuses on being a place where students can grow from failure and apply what they've learned in school.
“This is an environment where you can make mistakes and learn from them and it doesn't affect your grade, so you can apply what you learned when you went to school,” Traub said.

The center offers a variety of services, including tutoring in math, reading and science, as well as test prep for AP exams, ACT, SAT, GED, etc. All tutors hold four-year college degrees and are state or Huntington certified, according to the center's website.
Costs vary depending on each student's individual needs and the number of sessions they undertake at the centre.

Traub said the center not only teaches students academics but also works to build their self-confidence.
“A lot of students don't do well in school because they don't have the confidence to lift their head and ask questions,” Traub said, “so we want to make sure this is a place where kids feel comfortable asking any questions they have.”
Traub said attending sessions at the center has impacted students in many ways. From passing grade-level entrance exams to being awarded full scholarships from colleges, she said the center is full of success stories.
