Events scheduled for this year’s Gasparilla include:
Children’s Gasparilla (January 20th)
Bicycle + Pedestrian Safety Rodeo (from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm)
There’s a free Bicycle Rodeo on Bayshore Boulevard between Roma Avenue and Dakota Avenue, where kids can get a free new bike helmet (while supplies last), ride rodeo bikes and ride a mini-transit course. can be a challenge.
Gasparilla air raid (12pm to 4pm)
Tampa isn’t just invaded by sea, as a civilian aerobatic team and Shooters Parachute Demonstration Team conduct the largest Gasparilla air invasion ever.
Gasparilla preschooler walk (from 2pm to 3pm)
Featuring Tampa’s Youngest Pirates, Preschooler’s Stroll lets kids ages 5 and under don their best adventure costumes and stroll down Bayshore Boulevard in special wagons, bikes, and strollers.

Children’s Gasparilla Parade (from 4pm to 6:15pm)
The Children’s Gasparilla Parade begins at Bay to Bay and Bayshore Boulevard and continues to Edison Avenue. Widely known as the largest children’s event in the country, you won’t want to miss this event, featuring floats, marching bands, and of course lots of pirates.
Gasparilla air raid at night (6:15pm to 7pm)
There’s no reason to limit your air show enjoyment to daytime hours. Gasparilla Nighttime Air His Invasion will feature the same daring performers as the Shooters’ Parachute His Demonstration Team, as well as the Ghostwriter Air Show’s signature pyrotechnic flight.
“Pirate Finale” (7pm to 7:30pm)
The day concludes with an unforgettable “Pyra Technique” show in which the crew reenacts a fictional battle between YMKG pirates and the city of Tampa. It’s the perfect event to get you ready for Gasparilla Pirate Fest.
Gasparilla (January 27)
Invasion of Gasparilla (11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.)
The crew of the pirate ship Jose Gasparilla enters Tampa Bay, kicking off the day’s pirate-themed events. Around 11:30 a.m., the ship follows hundreds of other ships into the Tampa Convention Center Basin.
The ship docks at the Tampa Convention Center at 1 p.m., where the captain asks Mayor Jane Castor for the keys to the city.
pirate parade (from 2pm to 5:30pm)
Once the pirates take control of Tampa, the captain and crew march down Bayshore Boulevard in a 4.5-mile victory parade.
The parade begins at Bay to Bay and continues along Bayshore Boulevard to Brolein Street, where it turns east and then north on Ashley Drive. The parade ends at Cass Street and Ashley Drive.
pirate fest (10am to 8pm)
A stage will be set up along the Riverwalk in downtown Tampa with live entertainment before and after the parade at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park and MacDill Park.
