A driver honked at a woman in a Florida Walmart parking lot, then the woman fired a gun, deputies said.
The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office was called on Friday, Dec. 1, to a “dispute over parking,” according to a Dec. 5 news release from the agency.
According to police, the caller said there was a traffic jam on the property and he was honking his horn to alert a woman driving a white sedan that she was approaching. Police said the caller moved the car out of the way and the woman in the sedan stopped in the parking lot.
The woman then pulled out a gun and pointed it at the other driver, the caller told police.
Police said the woman left the parking lot and headed to a nearby restaurant. When she returned to the Walmart parking lot, they stopped her.
The woman was found with a gun inside her purse, the sheriff’s office said.
She was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Her attorney is not listed in county records.
She was released on $5,000 bail, deputies said.
“Parking issues are not worth going to the Green Roof Inn,” Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staley said in a release. “If you brandish a weapon and threaten another driver, you will definitely be arrested.”
