Marvel fans have flocked to social media to comment on how Robert Downey Jr.'s pay package for returning as Doctor Doom compares to other actors.
Last month at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC), it was revealed that Robert Downey Jr. would be returning as Victor Von Doom. Avengers: Doomsday, Similarly Avengers: Secret Wars, It was directed by Joe and Anthony Russo.
According to sources, the Russo brothers are being paid around $80 million for their returns, with Downey Jr.'s pay reportedly being “significantly more.”
Downey Jr. is already one of the highest paid actors in the MCU, but Fandom Wire has since revealed: Oppenheimer In fact, the star is set to receive a whopping $100 million for his return as Doctor Doom.
“Angela Bassett was only paid $350,000 for the Oscar-nominated film Star Wars,” a Marvel fan pointed out on Twitter. Wakanda ForeverMost of us would agree that she was given the cold shoulder.
“What does RDJ bring to the table that would warrant 200 times that amount?”
And it didn't take long for people to voice their opinions.

One Twitter user wrote: “Rdj shouldn't be paid that much or even close to that character, but he was a main character when the MCU really took off and he's won an Oscar, so it's crazy to say 'what does he bring to the table'.”
“Only $350,000?! I thought they'd be paid millions by now,” another user added.
The original user went on to explain that it's “hard to conceptualize such a large amount of money.”
They also said that they aren't questioning Downey Jr.'s “talent,” but rather that they believe “there are plenty of actors who missed the opportunity to breathe new life into the franchise without relying on RDJ's history with the series.”
However, another user argued that “his performance in 2008's Iron Man put the entire MCU on the map.”
And a fourth wrote: “She was on screen for 23 minutes in a 2 hour 41 minute movie. She got paid $15,200 per minute. RDJ was on screen for 53 minutes in the first Iron Man and made $500,000.”
“That's about $9,430 per minute. Her hourly rate for this role was higher than what RDJ was originally getting paid as Iron Man. Just saying.”

Cosmopolitan reported that Bassett ” Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Money Inc. quoted a report saying that “most of the big-name actors in the film made between $1 million and $2 million.”
Either way, if Bassett were to make $1 million, that would still be about 1/100th of Downey Jr.'s estimated salary. And if she were to take home $2 million, the difference would still be 50 times.
However, one Marvel fan asserted: “Without him the MCU would not exist. He is literally the reason Marvel movies make billions of dollars.”
“Angela Bassett was great, but Marvel fans around the world aren't going to go see a comic book movie just because she's in it.”
