October 26th
Noon: Batesville Public Works Services Board meeting at Memorial Hall.
7:00 p.m.: Decatur County Memorial Board meeting in Room D, DCMH, 720 N. Lincoln Street, Greensburg.
October 28th
1-3 p.m.: Tripp’s Howl-O-Ween Trunk or Treat at Greensburg-Decatur County Animal Shelter, 1635 W. Park Road. Everyone is welcome to come to this free event.
1-4 p.m.: Decatur County Historical Society Museum “Halloween at the Museum.” Free family event held at 222 N. Franklin Street, Greensburg. Crafts, treats, and green screen photos.
5-8 p.m.: Rushville American Legion Post 150, 221 N. Perkins Street, Open House and Halloween Party. Light refreshments and costume contest for children. It is free and open to the public.
7-10 p.m.: Decatur County Historical Society Halloween Party, 222 N. Franklin Street. Costume Party, Treats and Sleepy Hollow Show (8:30 p.m.) Ages 18 and older, $5 or 2 for $7.
October 31st
5-8 p.m.: Mount Moriah Baptist Church, 3167 N. CR 425 W., Adams, Trunk-or-Treat.
6 p.m.: St. Paul’s 49th Annual Halloween Party and Parade, hosted by the St. Paul Kiwanis Club, will be held at the St. Paul Gym. Prizes will be awarded in five categories in the costume contest. After the parade and party, everyone should stop by the St. Paul Fire Station for more goodies.
November 1st
11 a.m.: National Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) Conference at Rushville Elks Lodge.
6-8 p.m.: Decatur County PRIDE Alliance will hold its first youth group meeting in the Decatur County REMC Community Room. We welcome LGBTQ youth ages 13 to 20, their allies, and their parents. We will provide pizza and drinks.
7:00 p.m.: Decatur County Regional Planning Commission meeting in Room 106 of the Decatur County Courthouse.
November 2

6 p.m.: Greensburg Airport Board meeting at City Hall, followed by Greensburg Redevelopment (TIF) Board meeting at 7 p.m.
6-7:30 p.m.: Alzheimer’s disease support group meeting at Batesville Memorial Public Library, 131 N. Walnut St., Batesville. It is free and open to the public.
6:30 p.m.: Batesville Planning Commission and City Planning Board of Appeals meet at Memorial Hall.
November 3rd
Decatur County United Fund Auction. We will let you know as soon as the details are decided.
November 4th
5 a.m.: “Bulk trash” collection begins for Rumpke customers in Batesville.
7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.: If you have a boat, camper, or motorhome that needs storage, drop it off at the Decatur County Fairgrounds on Saturday, November 4th from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. will be accepted. Exhibition venue storage buildings must insure vehicles. Please pay your storage fees by personal check or cash.
8-11 a.m.: St. Paul Kiwanis Club Sausage and Pancake Breakfast at the St. Paul Civic Center. Open to the public. Freely provided.
9 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Annual Gift & Hobby Show hosted by Delta Theta Tau Sorority at Shelbyville Middle School, 1200 W. McKay Road. Over 100 vendors. Lunch/snacks will be provided. Information: www.facebook.com/ZetaLambda.org.
10 a.m. to noon: Drive-thru food pantry for anyone in need at Milroy Elementary School.
Noon to 2 p.m.: Introducing Turkey Chase, a free backyard obstacle course for youth hosted by the Rushville Breakfast Optimist Club at South Veterans Memorial Park in Rushville. This event is free and open to all youth in grades K through 8th. Before running the course, all participants must sign into the Optimist’s trailer and have a parent or guardian sign a waiver.
