Events & Special Projects Coordinator is a new position approved by City Council

Velasquez has dedicated his life to service and improving the community. A proud graduate of her local Cathedral City High School, she has worked in the education field for over 16 years, holding a wide range of roles in both K-12 and universities. Although she has extensive experience in both education and curriculum development, in recent years she has specialized in student leadership development, student and community activities, and event planning. She stands as a passionate advocate for her social and community programming, and she has held leadership positions throughout the Valley at Coachella.

Combining this research with her understanding of the experiences shared by many students in the Coachella Valley, she believes in shaping and contributing to the city’s role in building community among all residents. I know this community because it is where I played sports as a child. The local library is where I fell in love with reading. Having grown up in and worked as an educator in local schools, I have a unique perspective that is committed to contributing to the success of everyone, from students and their families to business owners and all the community organizations that make this city thrive.
