The University of North Georgia (UNG) is celebrating successful seniors who earned career opportunities and enrolled in graduate school before graduation. UNG Career Services will hold two Career Signing Days to celebrate students and launch new Career Closet.
The first Career Signing Day will be held on Dec. 4 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the Gainesville campus, during which students can share their acceptance of employment at the Career Services Office located in the Student Center.
The next day, Dec. 5, students on the Dahlonega campus will celebrate their commitment to join their future employer in the atrium of Dunlap Hall from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Fourth-year graduating students who have secured full-time employment by the time they graduate during the 2023-24 academic year will be invited to participate. They will be able to take a picture with Nigel and enter a prize draw for prizes such as a free girlfriend iPad.
“Signing Day is all about increasing students’ chances of finding a career sooner, and we want to help them prepare,” said Lisa Walker, assistant director of career services. . “One of her ways of encouraging early searches is to celebrate them. This is a first, so we hope it’s fun for all the students who participate. She also hopes to encourage employment in the future.” I think I can invite the Lord.”
Career Services organized the event with one of UNG President Michael Shannon’s big bets in mind. Encouraging students to make smart career decisions before graduation is intended to be a major step in the direction of a “supercharge workforce development” strategy.
Signing Day is designed to build momentum for students to find a career sooner. We want to help them prepare. One way to encourage early searches is to celebrate them. This is my first time doing this, so I hope all the students who participate will enjoy it. We also hope to be able to invite employers in the future.
