Oswego County – The holiday season continues to feature fun events for people of all ages throughout Oswego County. From craft fairs to themed performances, the whole family will have fun this weekend.
Vibrant performance:
Bring the whole family to a festive performance! CNY Community Arts Center presents “Babes in Toyland,” an adaptation of the holiday classic. Performances begin at 7pm on Fridays and Saturdays, December 8th and 9th, December 15th and 16th, with matinee shows at 2pm on Sundays, December 10th and 17th. Theater lovers can also catch a performance of “A Christmas Carol” by the Oswego Players. Performances will be held on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 8 and 9, at 7:30 p.m., and on Sunday, Dec. 10, at 2 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for seniors and students. Join the Fulton Community Band for their annual Christmas concert on Sunday, Dec. 10, from 7 p.m. The free concert will feature several new arrangements, and the Romijn Catholic Choir will be singing as well. Shop local at the Holiday Craft and Vendor Fair in Volney on Saturday, Dec. 9, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Items available include crafts, jewelry, home decor, clothing, raffle baskets, and more. This event will be held at Volney Elementary School, 2592 NYS Rte. 3, Fulton.
Christmas shoppers and cookie lovers can enjoy the Christmas “Nu-2-U” and cookie sale at Oswego Trinity United Methodist Church, 45 E. Utica St., on Saturday, Dec. 9 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. You can also visit. Gently used toys and Christmas decorations are on sale, as well as homemade cookies by the pound. The Minette Volunteer Fire Department will also host a craft show featuring vendors, food and drinks, raffle baskets, a visit from Santa and more on Saturday, Dec. 9 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Minette Volunteer Fire Department is located at 12 Barrett Dr.
Head to SUNY Oswego for the Holiday Craft and Vendor Fair at Sweatman Gym in the Marano Campus Center on Saturday, Dec. 9 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. More than 50 vendors will be in attendance, with hourly door prizes, hot cocoa, music and raffles. Marano Campus Center is located at 109 Campus Center, Oswego.
Shoppers may also want to check out another holiday sale hosted by the Arts Association of Oswego (AAO). There you’ll find a wide selection of unique gifts made by local artists. The sale will be held Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 9 and 10 and Dec. 16 and 17, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at AAO Gallery, 20 Barbara Donahue Dr., Oswego. Animal lovers will want to go to the Oswego County SPCA’s “Hauliday” silent auction on Saturday, Dec. 9 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Auction items include jewelry, gift cards to local businesses, movie tickets and more. Photos with Santa for pets and children, raffles, bake sales, and adoptable animal meet-and-greets will also be offered. A thrift store will also be open, selling new and gently used holiday items. Welcome Santa and Mrs. Claus to Oswego during the H. Lee White Maritime Museum’s Christmas at Sea Open House. The event will be held on Sunday, December 10th from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, and Santa will arrive on a U.S. Coast Guard boat at 2:00 PM. Extend your holiday spirit into next week by stopping by La Parilla on the Water for the second annual Toys for Toys event on Monday, Dec. 11 from 4-10 p.m. This family-friendly event includes live music, refreshments, face painting, appearances by Santa and the Grinch, and more. A variety of raffle prizes will be offered, local chefs will be auctioned off, and a private dinner party will be held at the winner’s home. Participants must bring a new, unwrapped toy for school-age children or pay the $10 admission fee. All toys collected will be donated to families in need in Oswego County.
