Ellie Roberts has described the environment at Loughborough Lightning as “electric” ahead of their clash with his former club this weekend.
The 19-year-old spent time at the Center of Excellence for Saturday’s Allianz Cup opponents Harlequins (kick-off 2pm) before heading to Loughborough University to study psychology.

“I really like it,” she said. “The environment here is electric. The girls are great. We’re a pretty young team. We don’t have a lot of experience. Our average age is probably around 20 years old. The girls are all very welcoming. Nathan [Smith, head coach] That’s excellent.
“He’s really figured out how to get the most out of us and get the most out of us. He makes us work really hard and the training is really tough. At the same time, I We’re building every week. Since Nathan came in, we’ve been building these foundations to have a really good season.”
