West Manchester Township Police have arrested eight people on suspicion of stealing more than $19,000 worth of merchandise from Walmart.
According to court documents, the thefts occurred over two days on Sept. 20 and 21 from the store in the 1000 block of Town Center Drive.
According to court records, a group of eight people, including seven adults and one juvenile, were loading five or six carts with hundreds of items just after 10 p.m. on September 21, store officials said. gave a statement, and the police were dispatched. They were driving a red Toyota Camry and a black Jeep Cherokee.
Store officials told police they believed they were the same group that stole about the same amount from the store the day before.

When officers arrived on scene, they were able to detain three people in a Camry with items from Walmart, and the others in a Jeep Cherokee.
All suspects were from York City. Janelly Sanchez, 29, was among the seven adults arrested. Lena Cuff, 40 years old. Leeza Hammond, 20 years old. Avzona Burgess, 18 years old. Thomas Jacobs, 26 years old. Darnell Trowell, 31 years old. and Joshua Castillo (26).
Police said one of the suspects, Sanchez, told police that the group lived together and could not afford necessities such as food and household goods. Sanchez reportedly said the group decided to go to Walmart to steal merchandise.
All suspects are currently charged with felony retail theft.
All are scheduled to appear before Magistrate District Judge Robert Herman for a preliminary hearing on Dec. 4.
