One of the surest signs that winter is coming to Durango is when Hesperus Ski Swap takes over the La Plata County Fairgrounds.
The 60th (!) Annual Swap will be held at the Fairgrounds, 2500 Main Ave., on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
According to the Swap webpage, there are more than 10,000 items to choose from, including new and used ski and snowboard equipment. In addition to vendors, residents will also sell equipment.
Proceeds from the exchange will be used for community group donations, patrol medical supplies, patrol equipment, patrol officer training, facility maintenance and upgrades, and patrol uniforms.
