New year, new love connections.
According to Tinder, the first Sunday in January is the busiest day of the year for online dating.
This Sunday, Jan. 7, a whopping 519 Tinder profiles will be edited and 2,263 photos added every minute, the matching service told the Post.
On “Date Sunday,” the number of messages sent on Tinder increases by 22%, users respond 19.4 minutes faster than on any other Sunday of the year, and the number of likes on the app increases by 18.2% Did.
As people update their profiles, the number of likes sent on the app is likely to increase by about 58.7 million and 11.4 million compared to the rest of this year, Tinder added.
This Sunday could be an especially exciting day for many New Yorkers. A new study from American Credit Union analyzes Google Trends data and finds that focusing on dating lives is a top priority for New Yorkers heading into 2024.
And the fun doesn’t stop until Monday. Tinder shared that the app typically sees an increase in activity from the first Sunday of the year until Valentine’s Day on February 14th.
For those preparing for peak cuffing season, Tinder’s Global Relationship Insights Expert Paul C. Brunson has some advice for attracting the right person.
As you spread out on your couch and edit your profile this Sunday, we recommend uploading at least five photos that capture your personality and show off your interests.
“People want to see you as you are, and for young singles, authenticity is paramount,” he said in a press release.
While a picture is worth a thousand words, Branson revealed that the optimal number of characters for a dating profile that expresses who you are is around 15 to 45 words.
“Your interests make you.” you — and by sharing them, you’re more likely to meet people who match your energy,” Branson explained.
Once you’ve matched with someone, relationship experts suggest starting a meaningful conversation by asking questions you really want answers to and things you like about the other person.
“The best dates happen when you have time to get to know each other on the app before meeting in person,” Branson asserted.
Relationship experts also advise single people to be clear about their intentions.
“Being open and honest about what you want out of the game will go a long way,” Brunson said.
