new This capability enables DevOps teams to strengthen their security posture from code to cloud to applications. Focus only on important security issues
Las Vegas , November 27, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — data dog, Inc. (NASDAQ: DDOG), a cloud application monitoring and security platform, today added identity, vulnerability, and app-level findings to its Security Inbox at AWS re:Invent. This provides engineers with one actionable view to improve their security posture without creating additional overhead or friction. With these new capabilities, Datadog moves cloud security early in the software development lifecycle, empowering developers and security teams to proactively address issues.
Datadog’s Security Inbox provides a unified view of the key issues DevOps and security teams need to address to significantly reduce risk across cloud accounts, Kubernetes clusters, containers, and applications. The capabilities announced today enable Datadog to proactively discover and address identity and access-related risks with the general availability of Cloud Infrastructure and Entitlement Management (CIEM). Additionally, Security Inbox’s new vulnerability management capabilities detect and prioritize based on heuristics such as exposure risk, likelihood of exploitation, and all observability contexts to detect and prioritize hosts, containers, and application infrastructure. Helps remediate vulnerabilities.
“Security Inbox provides DevOps and security teams with a prioritized list of actionable fixes that they can implement to maximize their security posture,” he said. Prashant Prahalad, Vice President of Cloud Security Products at Datadog. “The capabilities added to Security Inbox allow engineers to proactively mitigate issues without having to inform security teams about the urgency and impact of security fixes. We continue to save valuable time spent on contextualization and triage tasks, and can choose to focus on the overall security posture of our cloud assets.”
With new features announced today, Security Inbox provides organizations with:
- Complete visibility from apps to infrastructure: Security Inbox simplifies the process of managing security issues by consolidating findings collected by Datadog Cloud Security Management and Application Security Management into one view.
- Context-based prioritization: This feature incorporates context for potentially suspicious activity detected from cloud logs, application traces, or file and process activity detected on hosts, allowing teams to identify issues that are likely to be affected. You will be able to concentrate on
- Correlation and attack path detection: Datadog uses agentless cloud integration, one agent and tracing library to map relationships across an organization’s entire stack, from cloud and compute resources to applications. When a combination of risks is detected in your environment that suggests a potential attack path, a security issue is generated and displayed in your security inbox.
These features are now generally available. For more information, visit booth #732 at AWS re:Invent or learn more here. https://www.datadoghq.com/blog/security-inbox.
