CORDOBA – The Córdoba Economic and Industrial Development Authority (CEIDA) is inviting the public to place a Christmas tree in downtown Córdoba ahead of the main Christmas event on December 1st and 2nd.
Opposite the City Hall there is an empty pillar where you can attach a tree. Minimum tree height is 4 feet. Next, decorate the tree and securely attach the sign indicating who decorated it.
It doesn’t matter whether it’s a tree in memory of someone or a whimsical tree, with or without a theme. Secure your decorations.
The tree will be judged on Friday, December 1st during the tree lighting with Cocoa and Carol. Winners will be announced and prizes awarded on December 2nd at 2pm at the Christmas Market in downtown Cordoba.
Anyone can submit a tree, including churches, school groups, families, friend groups, businesses, and individuals.
If solar lights are available, CEIDA requires you to use them. If you use solar lights, find a post away from electrical outlets.
The tree lighting will be held from 6pm on Friday, December 1st, and in addition to the lighting, there will also be cocoa and carols. The participants eventually send Carol to a senior apartment complex on Beville Drive.
The city’s Christmas market will be held on Saturday, Dec. 2, from noon to 7 p.m. There will be vendors, crafts, food trucks and a winter wonderland area for kids. This includes inflatable snow globes, bounce houses, slides, and snow is made using his two snow blowers throughout the event.
Santa will take free photos with children and families. Children can write letters to Santa and receive a response from St. Nick. These two of her services are sponsored by Cordova Health and Rehabilitation.
Following the Christmas market, Córdoba will also host a Christmas parade on Saturday, December 2nd from 6pm. Line-up begins at 5 p.m. in the high school parking lot.
If you are interested in participating in the parade, stop by City Hall to pick up a registration form or call 205-483-9266 to complete your registration over the phone. Please note that items such as razors, ATVs, and antique cars are also eligible to participate in the parade.
