Minneapolis, MN – Joaquin Contreras Farico On Friday inside the Freeman Aquatic Center, South Dakota State’s swimming and diving teams had a double-double against Minnesota and Nebraska with 13 top-three finishes and the Coyotes’ top-10 finishes in two different events. I accomplished it.
Freshman Contreras Farico finished fourth in each event and placed in the top 10 in the 100 back and 200 back. He currently ranks fifth all-time in the 200 series with a time of 1:51.30 and eighth place all-time in the 100 series with a time of 50.23.
taylor barThe sophomore placed second in the 200 breast in 2:18.49, just over a second slower than the school record. She finished third in her chest 100m in 1:05.50.
South Dakota school record holder emily kern and Zachary Kopp In the 50-meter free, Khan took second place with a time of 23.76 seconds and Kopp with a time of 20.76 seconds. Both athletes returned in the next event, the 100 free, with Kopp, a fifth-year student, taking third place with a score of 46.53, and Khan, a junior, placing fourth with a score of 52.70.
jacob carlson, a newcomer to the Coyotes this season, finished runner-up in the 100 fly with a score of 51.03. She also placed fourth in the 100 free as a senior with a time of 47.19 seconds.
Jack Berdahl, the school record holder in the 100-meter breast, placed second in the event with a time of 56.83 seconds. He was fourth in the 200m chest in 2:07.35.
Keegan HenningHe placed 3rd in the senior 1000 free with a time of 9 minutes 58.74 seconds. Gaby Arendtwas third in the freshman 200 free with a time of 1:54.54.
South Dakota foursome adam fisherBerdahl, Carlson and Kopp took third place in the 200-meter medley relay with a time of 1:30.56.
Coyote Women’s Quartet Sarah MayerKahn, Arendt, skyler leverentz She placed second in the 400-meter free relay with a time of 3:29.78.
Meyer, a sophomore, placed fourth in the 100 fly (56.65 points). Matthew Sorbetalso a sophomore, placed fourth in the 500 free in 4:46.51.
Freshman Diver Charlie Matthews He placed third in both diving events, scoring 212.35 points on the 1-meter board and 209.70 points on the 3-meter board.
The Coyotes will be in Minnesota for Saturday’s Summit League game against St. Thomas, which will begin at 10:30 a.m. inside Anderson Paul in St. Paul.
