DENVER (KDVR) — Places and events across Colorado have been nominated for numerous holiday-themed Readers’ Choice awards by USA Today.
According to USA Today, travel experts select the top 20 in each category. Readers can then vote once per day in each contest.
This is the second year in a row that there has been at least one nomination, including Best Holiday Market. In 2022, Georgetown’s Christmas Market was named the No. 7 Best Market, and Denver’s Christkindl Market was named No. 3.
The same two again made the top 20 list.
These weren’t the only Colorado staples to make the top 20 list. In fact, most categories have at least one candidate for her in the centennial state.
Below is a list of some of the contests Colorado has been selected for and links to vote for them.
- Best ice skating rinks (Beaver Creek Ice Rink in Beaver Creek, Dercum Square in Keystone)
- Best destinations for snow (Aspen, Crested Butte, Telluride)
- Best Holiday Markets (Denver Christkindle Market and Georgetown Christmas Market)
- Botanic Gardens Holiday Lights Award (Light Flowers at Denver Botanical Gardens)
- Best Holiday Lights (Mile High Tree Presented by Xfinity)
- Best Ski Towns (Aspen, Breckenridge, Crested Butte, Steamboat Springs, Telluride, Vail)
- Best Ski Resorts (Aspen Snowmass, Powderhorn Mountain Resort in Mesa, Silverton Mountain, Steamboat Resort, Telluride Ski Resort, Vail Ski Resort, Winter Park Ski Resort)
Other categories in which Colorado ranked in the top 20 included best ski schools, best places to snowboard, and best hotels for vacation. A complete list of categories can be found here.
Voting will close in early December.
