Collective Snowmass at Snowmass Base Village has announced its winter activity lineup.
Popular events this season include community bingo, curling contests, a game lounge and selfie den, free ice skating, a chess club, programming with the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies (ACES), and a Snowmass Live comedy, music, and performance series. included.
Sarah Saunders, Base Village’s director of plazas and event venues, said there will be activities almost every day this winter.
“We are excited to once again offer our community and guests an incredible winter lineup featuring a diverse range of events including live music, performances, comedy, storytelling, family activities and more. There is something very special about it,” she said in a press release.
Additional events are planned for the rink, including drag queen bingo, salsa dancing, karaoke and a disco party.
The Snowmass Live Comedy Series is back this winter, starting December 6th every Wednesday at 7:30pm at Collective Hall. This season features a talented lineup of national and regional comedians, as well as all-new comedy WKND. President’s Day weekend event featuring Natasha Leggero, Jeff Wright, and Joey Avery. Tickets start at $15 per person.
Celebrate the holidays at The Collective on Dec. 24 at noon with a Holiday Skate Show by local group Aspen Skating Club. Other festive events include the lighting of the Hanukkah menorah on Dec. 7, a performance of cheerful holiday music by local pianist David Dyer, a visit from Santa, and a visit with reindeer in the square on Dec. 22. Drag Queen Bingo is back this season with holiday-themed bingo events starting December 17th. Additional shows are scheduled throughout the season, including lunch from Mawita, prizes, and a celebration of local drag queens.

Join local photographer David Clifford on December 31st as he brings his tintype photos to Snowmass for a unique New Year’s Eve experience. Tin type photography creates images on thin sheets of metal, allowing you to capture truly unique memories. Until Snowmass.
Most Base Village restaurants and retail stores will reopen during Thanksgiving to coincide with the resumption of The Collective’s winter programming.
- Weather permitting, the ice rink opens for skating in mid-December. The 1956 Airstream Trailer offers complimentary skate rentals daily from 1pm to 9pm.
- Free community bingo returns for the winter season on Thursdays starting December 28th. A player receives his two cards and prizes are awarded throughout the night. Seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Collective Chess Club welcomes players of all levels to two Monday sessions starting December 4th. Due to limited space in the Chess Club, please contact chessclubaspensnowmass@gmail.com to RSVP.
- Rotating DJ sets from Romy Ancona, DJ Tenza and other musicians will bounce around the ice rink during free Saturday afternoon disco parties starting Dec. 16 and running all season. Costumes are also encouraged.
- Local artist Kelly Peters brings her paintings to The Collective in an immersive and unique experience, guiding you through the techniques and processes that bring her landscape paintings to life. - Snowmass will host a free live ice carving demonstration by renowned sculptor Thomas Barlow on Dec. 17 from 3 to 5 p.m. in the plaza at the base of Snowmass Mountain.
- Santa will be visiting Santa’s Workshop at Base Village in the Collective Hall from 3pm to 5pm Thursday through Sunday from December 21st to 24th.
- Challenge Aspen will also host a sensory-friendly Santa event for people with cognitive or sensory disabilities on Dec. 21 and 22 from 5 to 6 p.m. Enjoy free pictures and arts and crafts for kids.
- Children ages 6 and up and their families and friends can enjoy music and fun at Pitkin County Library’s Children’s Storytime, held Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. in Collective Hall starting January 11 .
- Ready for some salsa? Join Brian and Claudia Paul, founders of Mezcla Social Dance, for an hour of salsa the first Friday of every month from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Join us for a lesson and an hour of ballroom dancing.
- “Aspen Piano Man” David Dyer will be celebrating the holiday season with songs and choruses at The Collective Hall from 3-5 p.m., Dec. 21-24. Starting January 28th, Dyer will appear regularly on the last Sunday of each month from 4pm to 7pm.
- The Game of Stones is back this season, with free curling competitions scheduled for Thursdays at 3 p.m. at the ice rink starting Jan. 4, weather permitting.
- A highlight this winter is the return of the Aspen Science Center for Environmental Studies’ Winter Speaker Series, featuring presentations from history, the environment, and local storytellers. Presentations will be held on select Tuesdays at 7pm from January 23rd through February. 20th at The Collective Hall.
- Celebrate Women’s History Month with an open-ended conversation with some of the Valley’s top women in leadership at “Women Who Lead: A Networking Event” on Thursday, March 14th at 6pm at Collective Hall.
- All ages are welcome to join DJ Tenza as he brings karaoke to Snowmass at The Collective Hall on Fridays in March from 6pm to 8pm. Would you like to show off your singing skills this spring?
- Base Village will celebrate the winter season with an end-of-season bash featuring a DJ, live music, children’s activities and SWAG all day long on April 13th.

The Collective Snowmas and The Rink are located adjacent to the Limelight Hotel in Base Village. Paid parking is available in the Snowmass Base Village parking lot, and complimentary shuttles run throughout the day from the Rodeo Lot, Intercept Lot, and Aspen.
