Classified, the drivetrain brand behind Powershift wireless shifting technology, announces the release of the Classified app. The Classified comes in both a road/gravel version and a mountain bike version that basically mimics a front derailleur shift with a unique rear internal hub gear reducer.
The advantage of the Classified system is that it allows for wider gear ranges with tighter gear gaps than modern 1x systems. Most bikes can be upgraded to use the Classified system, but the wheel requires its own rear hub.
The app appears to be targeted at MTB shifter customization, but road and gravel users can still perform updates and check battery status. This announcement marks another milestone as Classifieds promises to introduce a number of new features that will revolutionize the way riders interact with their powertrain systems.
Key features of the Confidential app:
- Assign custom actions to your shifter: Tweak your riding experience by assigning custom actions to your shifter to give any ride a personalized touch.
- Check your battery level: Stay in control with easy battery level monitoring to ensure a seamless and worry-free ride.
- Update firmware and create bike profiles: Easily update firmware and create detailed bike profiles to keep your Classified Powershift system up to date for a more personalized and efficient experience.
You can download the Classifieds app from the App Store or Google Play Store. When paired with the Powershift system via Bluetooth, users can easily update and configure their drivetrain over the air.
“To realize the full potential of Powershift, we developed a connectivity solution that supports rider demands,” said Dr. Roëll van Druten, CTO and co-founder of Classified.
“Once the app is launched, users will be able to configure the system to suit their riding and racing style and control interaction with their drivetrain on the devices they use every day.”
Alongside new innovations, more features and updates will be released in future updates.
