ESCANABA — There will be plenty of holiday activities happening in the local area this weekend.

The UP Steam and Gas Engine Association’s Christmas in the Village was held Friday and again today at the Antique Village at the UP State Fairgrounds.The village will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Antique Village is colored with light and greenery. Community There will be carols in his chapel, a bonfire in the village square and free roasted chestnuts at the agricultural museum.
There will also be wagon rides, photo opportunities, cookie sales, popcorn, hot chocolate and merchandise.
It’s also a chance to do some holiday shopping. There is a wide selection of handmade items by a variety of local artisans and artisans.
All stores are open and the community hall is filled with additional vendors. There will also be a can raffle and a quilt raffle.
Children also have the opportunity to visit Santa and share their Christmas wishes.
Admission to Christmas in the Village is free. Instead, the UP Steam and Gas Engine Association asks you to consider sharing the holiday spirit with others by donating non-perishable items to the Holiday Food Drive. All donations will go to local food pantries.
christmas concert
The Bay de Noc Choral Society’s annual Christmas concert, titled “Glory,” will be held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church, 11th Street and 1st Avenue South in Escanaba. The concert features bells, organs, pianos, brass and string instruments. Concerts fill the church every Christmas season, so it’s best to arrive early. There is no charge and a free will offering will be made during intermission. Traditional, classic and contemporary pieces will be on display.
