Chartwell Higher Education will receive the Governor’s Award for National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) on Monday, Oct. 30, at 2 p.m., in the Falls Room of the University Center, 501 Wildrose Ave., River Falls.
The University of Wisconsin-River Falls’ food service contractor has won the Large Business of the Year award. Angel’s Pet World was the small business winner and held an awards ceremony on Wednesday, October 18th (see A9 for details).
NDEAM is a month that celebrates the contributions of America’s disabled workers. This month raises awareness about supportive and inclusive policies and practices that also benefit employees and employers.
Anna Eggebrecht, deputy director of the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation, said her team is working with the governor’s office to develop a list of candidates.
“We’re looking for companies that truly embody the values ​​that NDEAM stands for, and we’re making sure that our local teams support NDEAM,” Eggebrecht said in an Oct. 18 interview. he said.
Chartwell Higher Education has contracts with 300 different university campuses across the country. The company has been working with River Falls University since 2015, according to Falcon News Service.
