Carrera – Calera residents were welcomed to the Walmart Supercenter at 5100 U.S. Highway 31 to witness the store’s grand re-opening celebration on Friday, Nov. 3.
The celebration began promptly at 8 a.m. with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a display of the store’s new features and amenities. The renovations are the latest effort by Walmart to bring forward some stores in more than 30 states and increase customer appeal.
“From delivery to receiving to shopping at the store. Carrera store renovations will strengthen Wal-Mart’s management.
We are committed to providing our customers with a seamless, hassle-free, high-quality shopping experience,” said Mark Edwards, Director of Media Relations at Markstein, on behalf of Walmart. “Examples of new store renovations include new murals, expanded online grocery pickup and grocery aisles, and new self-checkout lines.”
At the forefront of this celebration was the supercenter’s new mural painted by Pamala Morrow-Connor to represent the diversity and local culture that makes Calera unique.
“Walmart’s community mural program is an important part of each store’s transformation and furthers Walmart’s commitment to local communities,” Edwards said.
Store Manager Matt Joyner further highlighted several specific upgrades during the opening, including the store’s new interactive features. These upgrades include:
- The entire store’s signage, fixtures, LED lighting, and flooring have been updated.
- Digital touchpoints enable further service and delivery options.
- The interior and exterior, including paint and signage, have been completely renewed.
