ELKINS — The town of Beverly will be transformed into a Christmas past Saturday when the annual Old Fashioned Christmas is held.
The event will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and has become one of the Beverly Heritage Center’s most popular attractions of the year, drawing visitors from all over the region to explore this historic town for the celebration. I will visit.
The Beverley Heritage Center itself is the venue for a variety of events throughout the day, including children’s activities, a visit from Father Christmas (Victorian Santa), tote bags filled with goodies, free children’s books, live music, stories, and more. It becomes.
“We will have crafts for children in the main gallery area and hand out tote bags filled with goodies.” Marisa Terwilliger, director of the Beverly Heritage Center, told Intermountain. She said: “Children will also be able to write letters to Santa Claus during their stay and everyone will have free entry to the museum on the day.
“We really encourage people to explore our museum. There will be music in the courthouse, Father Christmas will appear in the bank building, and we will also have treats and great stories for the children. Because I am.”
Beverly’s historic Odd Fellows Building (IOOF) also hosts several activities throughout the day.
“The Odd Fellows Hall will also feature Santa’s workshop and several different crafts and vendors.” Terwilliger said. “People can buy Christmas goods from there.
“We’ll be selling leather crafts, crochet items, pottery, jewelry, art, candy, vintage items and more. We’ll also have crafts for kids in that building, so parents can visit the vendors.” You can let the kids do it for a while.”
The Beverly Fire Department will host its annual Breakfast with Santa early in the morning from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., and the Presbyterian Church will host a luncheon from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The celebration concludes with the annual holiday tree lighting ceremony at 5 p.m.
“We will have the Beverly Elementary School choir sing at the tree lighting ceremony.” Terwilliger said. “It’s going to be a very eventful and exciting day.
“We’re mainly focused on providing activities for kids, but we also want to make sure it’s fun for adults as well.
