BLOUNT COUNTY, Tenn. — The Blount County community has introduced a new way to connect directly with the Blount County Sheriff’s Office: a mobile app.
The sheriff’s office announced in November that people could download the app. It aims to connect the people of Blount County with local law enforcement. Through the app, people can find messages from the Sheriff’s Office and learn more about their departments. You can also submit information about various crimes and find out how to contact BCSO.
This can be used to find information about inmates and see BCSO’s most wanted suspects. The community can also read Sheriff’s Office releases regarding other threats to public safety, such as crime and weather events.
“We are very excited that our app is ready,” said Sheriff Bellon. “This app has been in development for several months and is now ready to share with the public. This app has many benefits, but one of the features we are most excited about is the weather The ability to communicate with the public in real time when emergencies threaten public safety, such as related emergencies and road conditions during inclement weather, road closures, and other emergencies. Another great feature is the ability to and rapid access to inmate information in real time.”
BCSO said the app is still “in development,” but the inmate section is live and should be useful for people to access photos of current inmates.
The app was developed by The Sheriff App, a company that develops apps for various sheriff’s offices across the United States.
