The initiative will provide Babilu Family Singapore's early childhood educators with the opportunity to share best practices and gain global insights.
Singapore, August 29, 2024 Singapore, 21 March 2020 /PRNewswire/ — Since its launch in 2022, Babilou Family Singapore's (“Babilou”) Inter-Country Learning Journey initiative has been taking early childhood educators on transformative global adventures, enriching their skills and perspectives through first-hand experiences at stable centres around the world. The initiative is in its second year and since then, around 10 educators have embarked on this extraordinary learning journey.
Leaping to Global Excellence
As the Early Childhood Education and Development Agency (ECDA) continues to promote quality early childhood education and further education through programs such as the Professional Development Program (PDP), Babilow is also focused on strengthening internal professional development support for educators to continually raise the bar in quality education.
The annual Inter-Country Learning Journey selects four outstanding leaders, educators and headquarters employees to participate in a four-day program at one of Babiloo Group's overseas locations. The program consists of several components:
- Workshop
- Discussion with international experts
- Observe, interact and learn from peers from around the world through visits to nurseries and centres
- Time for meaningful dialogue
Upon returning home, the educators share what they learned through collaborative projects and presentations. This knowledge transfer has created a ripple effect, benefiting educators in Babilou and in their host countries.
“We believe that exposure to a variety of educational environments and practices enriches educators' perspectives and improves the quality of the education they provide,” Rowena Ramos“Experiences like this enable our educators to adopt global best practices, enriching instruction and ensuring children receive a well-rounded and innovative education,” said Babilu Family Singapore Head of Curriculum.
Empowering Educators and Improving Employee Well-Being
The international learning trips also aim to recognise and reward the dedication and creativity of Babiloo's staff. Providing professional development opportunities and fostering a culture of recognition and continuous learning is in line with the company's strategic pillar: “People First”.
“International learning trips provide our employees with opportunities for personal and professional advancement, ultimately benefiting the children in our care.” Laraine Heng“Such programmes are a key pillar of our employee engagement activities and reinforce our commitment to our most valuable asset – our people,” said Mr. Babilu Family Singapore's head of human resources.
I'm looking forward to it
Babilu Family Singapore is committed to continually striving for a culture focused on excellence and continuous improvement. The international learning journey is just one of many initiatives to enhance the educational experience for both educators and children. The organisation looks forward to the positive impact this initiative will have on the community and the broader educational environment.
