TIFTON — Tickets are on sale now for Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College's annual arts and culture event.
The season will kick off with the First Tuesday Concert on September 3. The ABAC Music Department will present a classical concert in Howard Auditorium at 7 pm. Johnathan Thurston, Dr. Andrew Peel, Marty Scheldt, Christopher Walker and Dr. Jennifer Huang will perform pieces ranging from the Baroque period to contemporary Broadway productions.
On Thursday, September 26th, '80s tribute band The Breakfast Club will perform at ABAC Bainbridge's Charles H. Kirbo Regional Center starting at 7 pm. The concert is part of the Carter Arts and Lecture Series and is free and open to the public.
The Breakfast Club performs hits by Guns N' Roses, Journey, Bon Jovi, Queen and more. Breakfast Club members have shared the stage with many legendary musicians, including Whitesnake, The Romantics, Poison, Drivin' and Cline, Hootie and the Blowfish, White Lion, The Smithereens and Edwin McCain.
“This band is one of the best-known groups currently touring performing '80s music,” Arts Connection Director Wayne Jones said. “Anyone who comes to this concert is going to have a great time.”
The opening concert of the ABAC Presents! series is scheduled for Thursday, October 3rd at 7pm in the Howard Auditorium.
Acoustic band Young Original brings a unique blend of jazz, classical, folk and pop influences to classic American music. Formed in 2022, Young Original has performed across the U.S. and their original song “Doubt Your Love” has been featured on NPR.
“The Young Originals are one of the most musically dynamic groups I've seen in a long time,” Jones said. “They're all incredible musicians whose dynamic interpretations of this type of music are simply not to be missed.”
The ABAC Tribute Series will kick off with '70s Rock Revival: The Troubadour Project on Tuesday, Oct. 22. The six-piece band will perform favorites by Carole King, the Eagles, David Bowie, Fleetwood Mac, Elton John, Foreigner, Queen, the Rolling Stones and more. The concert will take place at Howard Auditorium at 7 p.m.
“This group is one of the most dynamic celebrations of '70s music I've ever seen,” Jones said. “Great production and phenomenal music.”
ABAC Presents! and the ABAC Tribute Series are ticketed events. Tickets for Young Original are $20 for adults and $10 for youth. Regular tickets for all ABAC Presents! events are $80 for adults and $45 for youth. Tickets for '70s Rock Revival and Troubadour Project are $35.
