update
Apple Sports is ready for football season
The free app allows fans to follow games, leagues, conferences and teams with live activity and receive real-time updates straight to the lock screen of their iPhone and Apple Watch.
Apple Sports, the free app for iPhone that gives sports fans access to real-time scores, stats and more, today introduced a new way for fans to stay up to date on the NFL and college football season.
New updates for NFL and college football games include enhanced play-by-play coverage, with quick access to scoring drives displayed along with a view of every game play. Plus, a new dynamic drive tracker allows fans to visualize the ball's position on the field at any time. As with other leagues on Apple Sports, fans can follow their favorite teams and watch their games with a tap. In college football, fans can now follow their favorite teams and conferences, plus a Top 25 that's updated weekly. As with all other leagues on the app, every game also features real-time scores, stats and live betting odds.1
With iOS 18 and watchOS 11, for the first time, the Apple Sports app will offer live activity for every team and league available in the app, providing live scores and play-by-play at a glance on the lock screen of users' iPhone and Apple Watch.2
In an app update coming later this year, Apple Sports will introduce new drop-down navigation to the main scorecard view, making it even faster to switch between My League, My Team and feeds of a user's favorite leagues, and a new enhanced search function will make it easier for fans to view matches from leagues they're not currently following.
Apple Sports will deliver scores, updates, betting data and more all season long for the following leagues:
- NFL
- NCAAF
- MLS
- Major League Baseball
- NBA
- WNBA
- NCAA Basketball (Men's and Women's)
- NHL
- Northwest
- Premier League
- Bundesliga
- La Liga
- Liga MX
- League One
- Serie A
Starting with league matches in September, additional leagues will be available on Apple Sports over time, including the Champions League and Europa League.
Apple Sports gives fans an easy and fast way to keep up with their favorite teams and leagues. Built for speed and simplicity, the app's personalized experience puts a user's favorite leagues and teams at the forefront with an easy-to-use interface designed by Apple. Users can customize their Apple Sports scoreboard by following their favorite teams, tournaments and leagues. Fans can easily navigate between scores and upcoming games, see play-by-play and lineup details, and tap to the Apple TV app to watch live games from Apple and connected streaming apps.3 Apple Sports will also seamlessly sync with selected favourites within the My Sports experience, including the Apple TV app and Apple News. Apple Sports is available to download from the App Store in the US, UK and Canada.
