Young has been on a Sun Belt championship team and two NCAA Tournament teams throughout his career. Young was one of 10 coaches recently invited to the Jay Bilas Coaching Academy, a top connect event that identifies basketball’s top assistant coaches and connects them with the basketball world’s top assistant coaches. Prior to his promotion, Fay worked as Kearns’ director of basketball operations for the past six years, and Martin was hired as director of recruiting in 2022.
This will be Fay’s first assistant coaching job at the collegiate level, but he’s no stranger to the sidelines. His years of Division I experience has seen him spend his last four years at App State.

Fay was an integral part of the day-to-day operations of App State basketball while also being on staff for App State’s Sun Belt Conference Championship run leading up to the 2020-21 NCAA Tournament.
Martin was hired in October 2022 and is in his second season at High Country. Martin has previously held two assistant coaching positions, spending one year at Greensboro College and the other at Richard Bland University. The Mocksville, North Carolina, native has been an integral part of App State basketball’s development over the past year.

Martin, who served as the player development coordinator as part of the coaching staff at the University of Arkansas, was a member of the Elite 8 team for the second year in a row. He has worked with multiple NBA first-round picks during his career, including Moses Moody and Jaylin Williams.
