“The best thing about this event is the incredibly diverse audience it attracts. It's not just for people who are interested in technology,” says Jen Heyman, senior vice president of marketing, communications and events for Ann Arbor SPARK. “The event is tailored to a wide range of attendees, including entrepreneurs, researchers, investors, corporations, academic institutions, nonprofits, job seekers and the general public.”
She said this year's a2Tech360 celebration will be bigger than previous gatherings, with the lineup already including eight flagship events produced by SPARK and 10 partner events, with the possibility of adding two more events in the near future.
One event Heyman is looking forward to is a new event called the “Sustainable Futures Forum,” taking place at 4M in Ann Arbor on Sept. 24 from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Attendees will be able to learn from Ann Arbor's local green technology innovators. The event will also recognize City of Ann Arbor award winners. Green Business Challenge.
“One of the big initiatives we're involved in with the city of Ann Arbor is the Green Business Challenge, so we wanted to host this forum,” Heyman said. “This is an opportunity for any business, from start-ups to established businesses, in any industry, to explore smaller opportunities to incorporate sustainability into their business practices.”
Heyman is also excited about this year's Tech Talk, which will be held at 4M on September 24th from 4:30pm to 8:30pm. The popular event is a series of presentations, keynotes and panel discussions featuring industry visionaries and experts.
“This year, we're focusing on themes of place-making, talent and Ann Arbor growth, and it coincides with Ann Arbor's bicentennial, so it's shaping up to be a fun event,” Heyman says. “And, like all of our events, there will be opportunities to network and chat after the speakers come off the stage.”
The Tech Talk will be followed by a fireside chat over drinks and snacks, with a discussion from speakers driving childcare innovation in the enterprise.
“This work is SPARK isWe want to foster conversation and find innovative solutions. [child care]”We're going to really look at the economic impact. What are the compelling statistics? What initiatives are out there that are actually helping other communities?” Heyman said.
Heyman said anyone interested in joining or supporting a2Tech360 should Event Agendaso don't delay registering.
“We're already seeing an increase in registrations from last year,” she said, “and we're seeing some events that are already sold out.”
