White Deer Community Park will host a community Christmas tree lighting event at the park along White Deer Pike on Tuesday, Dec. 5, from 6 p.m.
The Community Christmas Tree Lighting will feature hot cocoa, singing of Christmas carols, and tree decorations by the community. This event is free to all ages and all members of the community are welcome and encouraged to participate.
The community is encouraged to bring decorations for the tree. Ornaments exclusive to the park will also be available.
The White Deer Community Park Association (WDCP) was founded in 1953 to provide recreational facilities for picnics, community events, and athletic competitions.
Royasoc Township
Loyasock Township’s 18th Annual Surrey Short Holiday in the Park begins Saturday with lights on for Santa’s arrival from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., and lights will remain on until Jan. 1. It will continue to be uploaded. There will be holiday music and free wagon rides throughout the park. You will be able to see the lights. Short was the wife of James Short, who served as president of the Recreation Board for many years.
