State Police: Thief steals credit cards from wallet and spends more than $6,000 at Hempfield Walmart
State police are searching for at least three people for allegedly conspiring to steal credit cards before collecting more than $6,000 from a Westmoreland County Walmart. Police said a wallet was stolen from inside, according to a statement Wednesday from the Westmoreland County District Attorney’s Office. Aug. 12 at Sam’s Club in Hempfield Township. The credit card in the wallet was used to make a $6,081.50 purchase at a nearby Walmart. Troopers said the man and woman distracted the employee while the credit card was being used, but state police have not released the names of the suspects.
