LG: yes.
GWK: Do you share Keegan Bradley’s view about picking these teams that it has become too much of a boys’ club?
LG: It seems so, yes.
GWK: Do you think the Ryder Cup result would have been different if you had been on the team?
LG: I can’t answer that. I’d like to say yes, but I can’t say for sure.
GWK: Did you feel you had done enough?
LG: At that time, I thought I had done enough. Maybe it hasn’t even been two years? In my opinion, Keegan certainly was. But by the reason they have six picks, I think they’ve done enough.
GWK: Were you expecting a positive call from Zach Johnson?
LG:I really didn’t know. But you know, Zach and I are very good friends. I was just trying to put him at ease and try not to continue the conversation. Because I know it’s not the most fun thing to do. But as soon as he started speaking, I knew it – I could tell it just by his voice. I said, I understand, and you know, go get it and good luck.
GWK: Why weren’t you able to make a team? How are you motivated for future team events?
LG: Bethpage is next, which is going to be pretty big and a cool place for me. I would like to participate in it in some way by playing. I’ve said it every year, making these teams, playing for your country, is one of the greatest honors in sports. And unfortunately, I’ve been playing so poorly lately that it wasn’t on my mind. But now it’s there. It’s real. Yes, I would love to try it.
