GREENSBURG – Greensburg Walmart customers were welcomed inside the newly renovated Supercenter at 790 Greensburg Commons Shopping Center Friday morning to celebrate the completed store renovation.
The Greensburg store is part of a grand re-opening celebration that marks more than $500 million in capital investments in local communities in 30 states, according to information provided by the company.
Walmart employees celebrated the occasion with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, community celebration, international vendors, mascots, cake, music, and the unveiling of a community-inspired mural by artist Heather Landis. The event was attended by several Greensburg organizations and elected officials, including representatives from the Mayor’s Office, the Decatur County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, and community business representatives.
Walmart has reportedly invested nearly $9 billion to upgrade more than 1,400 stores across the United States over the past two years.

During the celebration, Walmart store manager Shanna Tyree highlighted the store’s transformation and new interactive features that will soon be available to customers.
“We are very excited for our customers to see new updates and enhancements to the store,” said Shanna Tyree. “We look forward to continuing to serve the Greensburg community in our newly renovated supercenter.”
To strengthen Walmart’s dedication to the communities it serves, store managers will donate a total of $3,000 to local communities, including $1,000 to the Decatur County YMCA, $1,000 to Tree City Festival, and $1,000 to Main Street Greensburg. Presented to the organization.
