North Dakota State University Extension, in partnership with the North Dakota Department of Agriculture and the North Dakota Department of Public Instruction, will host five Farm to School events across North Dakota in November and December. These events provide information to farmers, ranchers, and school districts and an opportunity to discuss North Dakota’s farm-to-school programs.
Participants will learn what food North Dakota schools purchase from local farmers and ranchers, how to market it to schools, and how to reduce potential barriers. Representatives from the Department of Agriculture and the Department of Public Instruction will be available to answer your questions. Farmers and ranchers also have the opportunity to register on the USDA Local Foods Map.
Participants traveling more than 60 miles round trip will receive transportation reimbursement. If you are unable to attend the event in person, we will be offering virtual options at two locations. We will provide light snacks.
Registration is not required, but is highly recommended.
