NEW CASTLE — The New Castle-Henry County Public Library will be hosting several events toward the end of the year. Activities include a Veterans Day program, a Christmas open house, and a Friends of the Library book sale.
Our Hero Tree: Honoring Veterans: The library is partnering with the Henry County Veterans Museum to host “Our Heroes Tree Veterans Day,” which will be held at the Veterans Museum in Smithville, 2221 North Memorial Drive, on Monday, November 6th from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. – Paying homage to local heroes during the program.

Christmas Open House 2023: The library’s Christmas Open House will be held on Saturday, Dec. 2 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will feature live music, activities, refreshments, and more. Cindy Kurtz will perform live on the piano, the Raintree Children’s Choir will sing, and Hannah the Hedgehog will perform the Artic Fox and Friends animal show.
The Henry County Model Railroad Club and the Muncie Model Railroad Club will feature a living train on display on the second floor, a visit from Santa and a reading of “The Night Before Christmas” by library staff.
Friends of the library book sales: The Library Friends Book Sale will be held from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, December 9th in the Library Basement, Lower Level Friends Bookshop, and Upper Level Friends Bookshop.
All proceeds from sales will be donated to Friends of the Library.
